Lazarus Pino of Windsor Colorado has chosen to close his medical marijuana business MediGrow after a Colorado judge rules that Pino was in violation of the December Weld County marijuana moratorium. Pino fought for his right to dispense medical marijuana in Colorado and is a native of Windsor. Windsor bans dispensaries this week and strengthens the Hi5 Law.
Pino spoke of Windsor “It’s a stereotypical, redneck American town ran by old money, and they got me right where they want me . . . as a slave to their society.” Weld County, Colorado has been particularly aggressive and unwelcoming to persons of Mexican American decent and this week banned access to marijuana under the assumption that they could do so with their new power structure under CO HB 10 – 1284. Weld County is a particularly hard opponent, and we give Mr. Pino a Ganja Warrior award twice now for standing up to the marijuana clowns of Weld County. Jah willing, patients in Weld County will continue to be able to access high quality cannabis.
Lazarus continues the fight as a caregiver in Colorado and will continue to supply patients now that CO HB 10 – 1284 strengthens the patient – caregiver relationship. CO HB 10 – 1284 allows for caregivers in counties like Weld to continue to operate uninhibited by new marijuana regulations as of July 1, 2010. The new Hi5 Law (5 patient caregiver limit) has endless possibility for caregivers to supply patients as described under Amendment 20 Colorado Medical Marijuana. Large scale production for the ‘centers’ will never dominate the abundance of small batch home grown mountain cannabis that Colorado is known for. All persons regardless of money, race, or any other discriminating body shall not be inhibited from having free access to cannabis in Colorado. 420map
