The August 1st deadline, when dispensaries must turn in State of Colorado medical marijuana licensing applications, is here. High Country Caregiver maintains that turning in the 30+ page dispensary application to the Department of Revenue is not a good idea. You should retain your right to grow, use, and distribute medical marijuana under amendment 20, and save you money and not give it to the State of Colorado for an application fee. Learn to be a crafty caregiver and grow large plants soil organic.
How can a caregiver stay legal, and what is the future for caregivers in Colorado? The Hi5 law is in effect now, so a caregiver can legally only care for a total of 5 patients and have no more than 30 plants, 15 flowering. Is it possible to still be a caregiver, with the limited plant count allowed? It is still possible to be a caregiver with only 30 plants, and sill make enough money to support your garden by growing larger plants. Large cannabis plants grown in soil can still yield a minimum of 8 ounces, and 15 of those still means you can have 7 – 8 pounds of marijuana every 2 – 3 months when done properly. 2 very large plants under 1000 watts can give amazing yields of top shelf high priced cannabis.
Growing large medical marijuana plants in soil takes a bit of planning in the vegetative stage, which will take longer, maybe 2 months instead of 4 – 6 weeks to veg your plants to a decent size before flowering. Try to grow your plants to about 18 inches before moving into the flowering room. If starting flowering at 18 inches, your plants should at least triple in size to 4 foot+ monsters during the flowering stage that will still get you the yield you deserve while keeping under the plant count at the Hi5 limit. With plant counts about to become a burden, it’s better to spend a couple of extra weeks growing one plant very large rather than having 4 small plants. Large plants grown in soil have a beautiful growth pattern, similar to outdoor grown cannabis, the flavor and high when grown in soil is superb, and the yields are very rewarding. Be sure to use some root growth stimulator like Roots Organics Oregonism to speed up root growth and bring your plant quickly to it’s full budding potential. Happy large plants and large yields gardeners, it’s time to get seriously medical with the Colorado Hi5 law now in effect.
